Please briefly describe your current profession in-detail including your responsibilities and tasks.

I support the operating plans across therapeutic areas by providing scientific, methodologic, and strategic leadership and collaboration – on internal reports; regulatory documents; manuscripts; presentations; workshops; design; analysis; and interpretation of results – in health services research across all phases of drug development.

Please briefly describe your career path to-date, including the reasons behind job changes you made since graduating from Baruch College.

After graduating from Baruch, I earned my PhD in psychometrics from Cornell and MPH in epidemiology from Harvard. At these institutions, and later at New England Medical Center/Tufts University School of Medicine and then Pfizer Inc (since June 1996), I found and developed my academic and career identify in conducting research in the social, behavioral, and health sciences in order to improve the quality and quantity of life for patients with disease or health conditions.

How did your experiences at Baruch College (e.g., academic studies, extra-curricular activities, student groups) prepare you for your career?

The quantitative courses – in econometrics, math, and especially statistics – provided me with a firm foundation to thrive academically and professionally. I was fortunate to have had several excellent teachers – Ann Brandwein, Joseph Ercolano, Shulamith Gross, Damodar Gujarati, David Levine, and especially Mark Berenson.

What job resources (e.g., internships, work-study jobs, summer and/or other work opportunities, etc.) have influenced your career choice(s)? A pre-doctoral internship and a post-doctoral fellow influenced my career choice.

Today, what advice would you give to an undergraduate or graduate Baruch student interested in your field?

Remain a life-long learner, find your professional passion, and develop it fully and completely. Be the best you can be – and help others be the best that they can be.
